Born and raised in Southern California, in 1970, Jennifer Rutkoskie Beaudet has always been largely influenced by the beauty that surrounds her. Her friends know her as Jen, she's been selling art online since 2009 with several of her paintings going viral on social media! With a great love of nature, and the beauty in simple things, her art reflects her emotions and expresses her feelings about the subject. Jennifer's art has been described as very romantic because of the beautiful colors and dreamy way she paints. She paints mostly florals, along with wineries in California, Southern California scenes, and some of her most popular...women in beautiful gowns. Jennifer expresses her emotions in her paintings and uses the practice as therapy. She makes it her goal, as an artist, to bring beauty to the homes of her collectors. Jen has always been an artist; attending a local community college and earning a degree in studio art, she put her dreams on hold to raise her beautiful daughter, as a single mother.
Jen says, "I knew as soon as I could put some time into my art career that I needed to pursue my life long passion as an artist. I started painting with oils in 2009 when I was given a set of oil paints that my mother didn’t want anymore. I fell in love with the rich and juicy colors that only oils can offer. Oil paint's luster and buttery texture keep me exploring and creating new pieces while discovering myself along the way." She uses both a brush, palette knife, and fingers to get the paint down to achieve the look she's after. These tools create the beautiful nuances Jen is drawn to. She wants each piece to possess harmony and excitement like a beautifully composed piece of music. Every work needs the right balance that will make it come alive to the viewer. Jennifer's subject matter varies from local California landscapes, to wedding inspired women in beautiful gowns, and from Koi fish to Jacaranda trees. Each piece possesses a little bit her soul, and she leaves the final interpretation up to the viewer, so that they can develop their own personal connection to it. Jennifer's work can be purchased on Etsy. and her Facebook She has done several commissions over the years.
