New paintings of San Clemente California by Jen Beaudet Zondervan

I'm working on loosening up...once again. I want my paintings to be more fresh and clean. I love working with a palette knife, but sometimes I get a little too much texture.  The tree painting is inspired from a walk in Rancho San Clemente. It was during quarantine and everything was so amazingly beautiful that day. I think it was still March.  8x10 $175 11x14 $225 This one is not finished but you can see where it's going. It's San Clemente, California at my favorite beach called Calafia. I still have to add the railroad crossing in this one. I thought about not adding it but anyone that knows the area might wonder. I think this spot is memorable because of the palm trees lined up. I love it because of all the beautiful Bougainvillea everywhere. It's amazing how it blooms all year round (or at least it seems to). Anyway, I'm still working on it and may add some clouds.  Both will be available in my etsy shop soon but feel free to contact me if you're interested

Dreaming of Hawaii...

Ahhh...that's how I feel when I think of Hawaii. I wonder if I would still feel that way
if I lived there. Would that feeling go away?
I did this painting for an online workshop I'm doing. It's called The Complete Artist and is
taught by Richard Robinson. This was a challenge for me because of the sloping sand and shadows. The beach is called Turtle Beach on the island of Oahu. The official name is Laniakea.
Beautiful place.

Wow...I really love this! It reminds me of some of the secluded beaches we found when we were there on our honeymoon.

I never asked how you enjoyed your last trip there! Of course you had a great time! What a paradise. I didn't know you had lived there. How nice!

Hope you are having a great week!

Thanks Jane! I actually dream of living there, hasn't happened yet. My trip was amazing! The only bad thing was that I didn't have a lot of energy so didn't snorkel. Just layed on the beach...which isn't that bad. I can't wait to go back! So nice to have you visit my blog!:)

My husband and I visited Maui and Honolulu and enjoyed it, but I prefer living where we do, in California.

Very nice...
Best regards from Paris,

Hi Terra! I love California too, went it's near the beach. I
was born and raised right near the beach and I guess it's in my blood. When I visited Maui the first time when I was 14, I just fell in love with it. I love the air, the smells, and the beauty...everything.

Hello Pierre from Paris! Thanks for stopping by and for your nice comments!
